Our Mind has immense potential. The conscious mind consists of only about five percent of our mind while the rest 95% is the sub-conscious mind.It is a huge repository of all our experiences in life. We are in control of our conscious mind but our sub-conscious mind is the one controlling our thoughts and body. Our body functions as directed by the mind. However, there are ways and means developed over ages to control our mind. Meditation is all about controlling your mind. Stress Relief Meditation is controlling our mind to be stress free.
Meditation literally means to contemplate. The subject of contemplation might vary. Meditation and Yoga are different things,however interlinked. Yoga is said to be the way of life. Power of Sub-Conscious Mind
Our sub-conscious mind is huge repository of our life data. All experiences whether physical or in our imagination gets stored there. It is the part of the mind which also controls how our body would behave. It is an observation that any kind of lifestyle ailment arises out from our mind. Here it means that if our mind feels constrained in some cicumstances, it reacts by indicating clearly in our body parts.
This brings a few observations I had on people suffering from severe lifestyle ailments. Substance abuse or living in an unhealthy environment is another subject. But the ability to fight certain ailments is lost when your sub-conscious mind is not tuned to it.
Meditation is a means of controlling your sub-conscious mind. Initially, it is very difficult to think different from your sub-conscious mind. Try that for yourself where your concentration would mingle with that of sub-conscious mind almost immediately. Try thinking that it is completely dark outside closing your eyes in the middle of a bright day. Can you do it? Or even if you could do, does it last long?
Hence, it is only possible to tune your sub-conscious mind slowly. You need to train it before going to sleep because that is the junction when the sub-conscious mind completely takes over from your conscious self. Create Positivity in Life
The idea of meditation is to create positivity in life. Positivity is often related to material gains. The idea of meditation is to concentrate. This concentration is again of at least two varieties – to concentrate internally or to concentrate on an external subject. Besides, many popular mediation technique recommends you to concentrate on particular body part. The most popular of them is to concentrate on you extinct third eye – i.e. the central are just above both eyes.
The simple meditation technique I follow is to close the eye in the morning hours during sunrise and concentrate of the Sun’s brightness. It is likely that your mind will deviate from this brightness but a little practice will make you see the sun’s brightness with closed eyes without any sun-rays touching your temple.
I find this extremely useful stress relief meditation. The sun’s brightness is unparalleled in its brightness on this earth. Therefore, the idea is to tune our sub-conscious mind to be bright and soak all our organs in positivity.

Our wellness is closely related to how our sub-conscious mind is tuned. By meditation, we tune our sub-conscious mind to be away from negativity. Our body is made to function in the most optimum way. We are free of any ailments when our body is functioning optimally.
We live a life of wellness when our mind is free and full of positivity. You must have observed the negative impact of stress caused on your body. The hunger is lost, you start losing on sleep and feeling tired throughout the day. Stress is the root of many lifestyle diseases here and leaves us short of leading a life of wellness. What we achieve to do is to eliminate stress and fill our mind with positivity.
